In general, a region is a medium-scale area of land or water, smaller than the whole areas of interest (which could be, for example, the world, a nation, a river basin, mountain range, and so on), and larger than a specific site. A region may be seen as a collection of smaller units (as in "the New England states") or as one part of a larger whole (as in "the New England region of the United States"). Regions can be defined by physical characteristics, human characteristics, and functional characteristics. As a way of describing spatial areas, the concept of regions is important and widely used among the many branches of geography, each of which can describe areas in regional terms. For example, ecoregion is a term used in environmental geography, cultural region in cultural geography, bioregion in biogeography, and so on. The field of geography that studies regions themselves is called regional geography. From Wikipedia under the

Say some airline in Asia orders 20 CRJ-200s from Bombardier, which manufactures aircraft in North America. How do they deliver it to Asia? Regional-jets lack trans-oceanic range. I've heard of 717s being delivered to Hawaii by installing additional fuel tanks in the cabin, but then how do they get them across the Pacific? Ships? Q. We just mailed our skills assessment and expect to receive a good result. We will be moving to either Western Australia, Tasmania, South Australia, or Victoria, in one of the wine regions. We are hoping to purchase a vineyard/orchard/bed and breakfast accommodation and manage it ourselves. We are applying for the skilled regional visa rather than the business owner's visa to give us more flexibility in employment. Any suggestions? Asked by onequest - Sat Jul 1 11:37:27 2006 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Hi there, Processing time will depend on a couple on things, e.g. the state you apply to and your nominated occupation. Also, is it the Skilled Independent Regional (SIR) visa or the State / Territory Nominated Independent (STNI) you are applying for? If you are thinking of applying for the SIR are you aware that it is only a temporary residence visa in which case it might be worthwhile investigating your permanent residence options. If you email me your details at answers@visalogic.net I can provide you with more exact information. Q. Over the life of an average 80-90 seater regional jet (like the CRJ900) operating in North America, how much revenue would it bring in for the airline. i know this answer has a million "it depends" associated with it, but a ball park would be good. And also a brief explanation of how you got the figures. :) Thanks! it's not a course, i'm doing a presentation selling a CRJ900 NextGen. So I'm just covering all the bases. :) Asked by xtinct2 - Tue Mar 31 00:32:52 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. How about how much it saves a company? We fly 4 CRj 890's and according to the company bean counters we save over a million bucks a year flying our people in and out of camp as opposed to sending people on commercial airlines. We also move execs around saving on hotel costs etc. We move over 500 people around Alberta, BC and Sask. Canada on a daily basis. regards russ Answered by Russ A - Tue Mar 31 20:33:37 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "regional" Jones, Poston win regional qualifier
