North America (Spanish: América del Norte or Norteamérica; French: Amérique du Nord) is the northern continent of the Americas, situated in the Earth's northern hemisphere and in the western hemisphere. It is bordered on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the east by the North Atlantic Ocean, on the southeast by the Caribbean Sea, and on the west by the North Pacific Ocean; South America lies to the southeast.

North America covers an area of about 24,709,000 square kilometers (9,540,000 square miles), about 4.8% of the planet's surface or about 16.5% of its land area. As of July 2008, its population was estimated at nearly 529 million people. It is the third-largest continent in area, following Asia and Africa, and the fourth in population after Asia, Africa, and Europe.

How to take a cat from North America to South America HELP?
Q. We will be moving from Canada to Ecuador this coming September. We're trying to find a way to take our beloved cat with us but we seem to be running into a lot of roadblocks that are making it impossible to take the cat with us. Does anyone have any ideas or information about transporting an animal to South America from North America? PLEASE help!

I don't know whereabouts in Canada you are, but this link has contact details for the Ecuador Embassy and Consulates, who will be able to confirm exactly what the current requirements are. Pet transportation regulations vary. Some airlines will allow them to travel in the cabin, whilst other only transport pets as cargo in the hold. This link has contact details for all the airlines, so that you can check that information. All airlines insist that pets are treated for parasites and ticks 24-48 hours prior to… [cont.]

Do Mercedes cars in North America come with alarm system with motion sensor?
Q. I'm planning on buying E-class coupe. It's equipped as standard with Anti-Theft Alarm System, but does it have motion sensor? I know that Mercedes cars in Europe have alarm system with motion sensor, but is it the same in North America. I couldn't find it on the Internet. Is it possible to order Mercedes in North America with motion sensor,or would I have to buy an after-market alarm system?

A. Yes, it does. The anti-theft system on the new E-class coupe is state-of-the-art technology. It makes aftermarket systems look like stone-age tools.
